Local & Trusted Builder Skip Hire in Didsbury

Exceeding the fill line can have an impact on safety as well as the environment in a number of ways: Items may fall out of your skip onto pedestrians or into the path of drivers. Waste sticking out of your skip may be clipped by vehicles and could injure pedestrians.

We prefer someone to be on site for the delivery or collection of a skip so that the relevant paperwork can be signed at the handover. However, we appreciate that it is not always possible and we will always do our best to accommodate customers who are unable to be present.

Your Didsbury skip can be placed anywhere on private property that you own or have permission to use. A skip can be placed anywhere on your private property providing that our Didsbury skip delivery driver can access the requested location. You cannot move a skip when it has been placed, or you may make it inaccessible for collection. If you are looking to place the skip on public areas you must consult your local authority and consider public right of way and safety.

When you book a Didsbury skip from Manchester Skip Hire, you need to make sure you are prepared for the skip arrival. This includes ensuring that where you require the skip to be placed is fully accessible by our skip lorries and will be for skip pick up as well. In addition to that, you must prepare for the arrival of the skip by planning how you will load the waste into it. Load the Skip Evenly Once you are ready to load the skip, load any flat items in first, at the bottom and around the edges. However, make sure that nothing sticks up above the edges of the skip.

Generally you can put cardboard, construction/demolition waste (nails, rubble, tree stumps, etc.), household waste (bottles, cans, clothing, compost, disposables, etc.), magazines, mixed metals, timber (panels, composite panels, veneers, etc.), wood (old furniture, hardwood flooring) and mixed recyclables (plastic bottles, cans, glass and paper) into your skip.

However, you cannot put asbestos, batteries, fridges/freezers, tyres and paint/paint cans into your skip.

Depending on the type of waste in your skip we try to separate and ensure that recyclable materials are recycled using the correct methods. We have a list of materials that you cannot place inside our skips and these requirements must be a heard to. If materials are recyclable we will collect and send to a recycling facility or recycle at our own facilities where possible. General waste will be collected and destroyed following the requirements set out by local authorities.

Skips come in a range of sizes which are suitable for most projects and requirements. Our Didsbury skip sizes include small skips which are also known as Mini Skips, Midi Skips and larger skips also known as Maxi Skips. If you require a larger format skip, we also offer RoRo skips which are trailer sized skips designed to be loaded on to lorries. These are ideal for large projects who require larger amounts of waste removal.

If you are hiring a skip in Didsbury and the skip will be placed on private land such as a driveway or garden, you will not need to obtain a skip permit. However, if you want your skip to be placed on the road such, pavement or any other form of publiclly accessible area, you will need to obtain a permit from your local Didsbury council.

The size of skip you need depends on the type of job and materials you will be putting in your Didsbury skip. Our skip sizes range from small mini skips to larger skips such as the maxi skip or roro hire for larger industrial requirements in Didsbury.
